Cruise Retirement was originally founded in 2010 with the belief that opportunies existed within the maritime marketplace to do things a little differently than the present, traditional methods. We loved the idea of long-term residency aboard both shallow and deep-water vessels, with our ethos being to explore these marketplaces and provide alternative options to existing travellers that may be more cost-effective for long-term living.
Founded originally in 2010 by father and son team, Ted and Christian Bannard, through many changes, thinktanks and even global pandemics, and therefore significant setbacks, Cruise Retirement, which was originally designed as a deep-water, ocean-liner liveaboard programme, was redesigned with the view that river barge cruising offers an attractive lifestyle to clientele without the added risks associated of "ownership", which is why we reinvented Cruise Retirement with a shorter stay, rental-based programme rather than our initial goals of long-term cruise cabin ownership through similar to strata title which is commonly used in condominium and apartment blocks.
Our venture has evolved to meet what we see as the forseeable needs of this future generation of "retirees", which we encapsulate only loosely in terms of demographic in that many digital nomads and semi-retired people can also avail themselves of our programme without significant, long-term capital investment.
"Our aim has always been to provide something of a 'gold standard' when it comes to offering of affordable,
long-term options within the cruise industry and doing so where our clientele feel at home.
We hope you will come along with us for the journey of a lifetime."
